sattes-faction (i can’t get no)

This is a more-or-less minor relese. Besides an Arabic translation it’s now possible to view non-albums, but in this version only when viewing an album directly. It will not work when viewing all albums (not yet). Just use the tag like this (the token is generated by picasaweb, so you have to look there):

[picasaView album='ALBUMNAME' authkey='AUTHTOKEN']

It’s just a minor release, fixing a small bug with a template variable, adding some translations (thanks to the guys who contributed) and changing the html into a table less layout.

This release contains only two minor additions. A new placeholder can now be used in the template albumDetails.html to output a simple image counter. And I added a Dutch translation (thanks to Stef Segers).

Today I replaced the discontinued theme “avenue” I used before with “iowa Pro”. It’s a really great theme that’s highly customizable. I only replaced the header image with an self-made one. If you’re interested in this theme you can get it here. Happy New Year by the way

After a long time I finally released version 1.0 of picasaView. The code was completely rewritten to feature more flexibility for future versions. Besides some bugfixes, albums can now be shown directly with the “instantView”-option and nearly all settings of the admin-options page can be overwritten directly in the tag. That means, you can have multiple picasaView-tags on your blog (and even in the same post) with completely different settings in image size, server or user-id (and some more). See the readme.txt for more details.

After a long time without any updates I just wanted to post a little life-sign. I’m still there! The next version is due (needs some testing before – if you’re interested, please contact me) and has some new features like instantView (directly print images of an album in a post) and way more flexibility in integration – this means you will be able to overwrite all default settings on each picasaView-call. So you can view multiple albums of different users with different settings in your blog. So please be patient for a few more days (I’m a little bit lazy I admit…)!

Since today the recent version 0.6 of the picasaView WordPress plugin is available for download. With picasaView you can easily view your photos from picasaweb directly in your blog. In version 0.6 it’s now possible to enable paging for your album details view, so that not all images are shown at one page. Some more detailed error messages tell you now more exactly what went wrong. Also some more placeholders were added for customization (like a “back to page”-link or image titles). So please give it a try and tell me if you like it or not.

Eine Woche ist’s nun her und richtig braun sind wir dank Sonnenschutzfaktor 30 nicht geworden (mal von einer Stelle auf meiner Schulter, die ich vergessen hatte einzucremen, abgesehen). Am Wetter lag es jedenfalls nicht, denn das war mit etwas über 25 Grad wirklich perfekt. Nicht zu heiß, nie schwül und abends immer kühl genug, um das mindestens ebenso kühle Bier genießen zu können.

Das Melas Holiday Village war wirklich super und ließ keine Wünsche offen: weitläufiges Areal, viel Grün, toller gepflegter Sandstrand, sehr umfangreiches Buffet und vom Tennisplatz bis zum Pool direkt vor der Tür gab’s so ziemlich alles, was man sich wünscht (auch wenn Tennis mangels Spielpartner und -gerät nicht drin war) und einen den Club-Abstieg vergessen lässt.

In Sachen Kultur haben wir dann allerdings doch nicht viel mitgenommen. Zwar gab es Halb- und Ganztagstouren, die wir hätten bestreiten können, doch die Lethargie nach 4 Tagen Strandurlaub hatte dann schon soweit zugeschlagen, dass der Urlaub schließlich ein reiner Erholungsurlaub geworden ist (was ja dann sehr schön war). Der Tagesablauf sah dann also ziemlich genau so aus: Frühstücken, am Strand liegen, Mittagessen, am Strand liegen, 30 Minuten türkische Massage (am ersten Tag mit Hammam voraus), Abendessen, gemütlich zusammensitzen.

Einmal wenigstens haben wir uns etwas rausgewagt und das über den Strand in 15 Minuten erreichbare Örtchen Side erkundet. Da gab es vor allem viele Touristen, viele Markstände und ebenso viele Einladungen, doch etwas Geld in Restaurants auszugeben. Doch gerade letzteres war natürlich dank All-Inclusive überflüssig, so dass wir im Endeffekt jeden Tag das leckere Buffet leer geräumt bzw. einmal schön im clubeigenen Fisch-Restaurant im Sonneruntergang diniert haben.

Nur eines steht fest: so bald fliege ich nicht mehr. Turbulenzen hin oder her – für’s fliegen bin ich nicht geboren
