Since the recent release I got many feedback (some bug reports, too) and some nice improvements. Thanks to all of you – I really appreciate your feedback on picasaView.
Hence today the new version 0.7 is released and it features some new things and some bug fixes (hopefully). The socket connection has been improved, it’s now possible to use more than one user-Id and the admin-panel offers some new options (including quick paging with nice transition effects). Please give it a try and tell me your opinions.
If you upgrade from a previous version, please keep the following things in mind:
- If you customized the picasaview-templates and/or stylesheet: they were moved. They should now reside within the currently used theme dir in a subdirectory named “picasaview” (e.g. /wp-content/themes/default/picasaview).
- If you customized the picasaview-templates I strongly encourage you to use the default templates as a new start as some things have been changed (especially the css class names)
- Please take a look at the new admin-options and try out the new quick paging. I’m sure you like it
A complete list of changes can be found in the history.

Really cool plugin!
I was looking for an easy way to display photos hosted on picasa, and you’ve done it…
I can’t wait for the possibility to directly display the gallery without the entry image.
When are you planning to release the next version?
Congratulations, and thanks again…

Hi there,
But stay tuned, it will come
thanks! I’m glad you like it. I will implement it in the next version, but currently I don’t know when I have the time. I’m pretty busy right now

I love the plugin but it causes problems with my Wordpress 2.7. When activated I get the error “ERROR: Unable to find options page” whenever I change and try to save settings.
